Neuropsychological evaluations
in Anchorage, Alaska

For children ages 7+, adolescents, and adults

NeuroWest Neuropsychology provides neuropsychological evaluations in Anchorage for individuals aged seven and above. Each assessment considers the reason for referral, your concerns, and how you are functioning in everyday life.

What Is a Neuropsychological Evaluation?

A neuropsychological evaluation is a structured way of understanding how the brain is working. Through a series of hands-on and paper-and-pencil tasks, we measure skills such as attention, memory, language, visual-spatial reasoning, and problem-solving. Unlike a school test, there is nothing to study for. The goal is simply to see how a person takes in and uses information.

The results help clarify diagnostic questions and identify strengths and difficulties. Recommendations are based on the findings and may address daily life, school, work, or medical care. Read about the evaluation process and how to prepare.

Presurgical Evaluations

Neuropsychological assessments can help inform surgical planning by documenting cognitive functioning and addressing questions from the referring medical team.
